Shakespeare Shorts is an annual short film competition, celebrating the continued impact of William Shakespeare’s work and organised by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. Lights of London in association with Golden Pavement Films are delighted to have been selected for the festival this summer 2024 in the category of “The Women who Made Shakespeare” (a short film of up to 10 mins). The film was written by and features Darrie Gardner in the role of Mary Arden “Seeking refuge from a domestic storm, real housewife of Stratford, Mary Arden Shakespeare, takes time out for reflection and recreation”.
